Galerie Anhava is pleased to present a solo show by Vesa-Pekka Rannikko at CHART 2017. Vesa-Pekka Rannikko (born 1968, Finland) is a versatile artist working with painting, sculpture, video and installation. Rannikko displays a series of new cast pieces of dyed plaster and cut gouache paperworks at the art fair. The works investigate the relationship between painting and sculpture, and explore the nature of space, form, colour and perception through these media.

In recent years, Vesa-Pekka Rannikko has had solo exhibitions in the Nordic countries, e.g. Foma in Forum Box in Helsinki (2016); Various Pictures at Galleri Lars Olsen in Copenhagen (2013); and Three Legs at the Alvar Aalto Museum in Jyväskylä (2011). Rannikko has also participated in group shows such as From the BOX in the Czech Center in Prague (2015) and Dark Days, Bright Nights at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City (2015). Vesa-Pekka Rannikko represented Finland at the Venice Biennale in 2011. His works are found in various public collections as well as in private collections in the Nordic countries, Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2015 Rannikko was awarded the Finnish State Prize for Visual Arts.
